  • Jrue Holiday is willing to join the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Clippers
  • Holiday was moved by the Bucks in a trade for Damian Lillard
  • Some other teams such as the Philadelphia 76ers could be in the mix as well

Point guard Jrue Holiday was most recently involved in the multi-team blockbuster trade that sent Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Portland Trail Blazers seem likely to reroute him going forward, as they already have a lot of guards and are in a rebuilding process as of right now.

It seems as though Holiday’s focus as of right now is being traded to a contender. A recent report from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald revealed that he is interested in joining the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Clippers, among other teams.

“Am told Heat, LA teams, Boston, Chi., and Philly are teams of interest to Holiday. (Perhaps others, but those 6 in no order were mentioned to me).”

There is no doubt that Holiday would be a solid acquisition for any team with contending aspirations. He is an elite two-way point guard and has shown that he can be a championship-level No. 3 option during his time with the Milwaukee Bucks.

This past season, Jrue Holiday averaged 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game, while shooting 38.4% from 3PT range. We will see where he ends up in the future, and hopefully, the veteran point guard gets a real shot to compete for a championship no matter his destination.

The Golden State Warriors Could Get In The Mix For Jrue Holiday

Even though there have been no reports thus far about Jrue Holiday’s preferred destinations aside from the aforementioned teams, it seems as though there is potential for other teams to get involved as well. In fact, a previous report revealed that the Golden State Warriors could trade Chris Paul for Jrue Holiday.

“Even the Golden State Warriors, who have interesting young players on their roster, plus a few far-out draft picks and swaps when Stephen Curry might be retired, could join the race. Provided they’d be willing to re-trade Chris Paul, who members of the organization have praised for his offseason work of trying to fit in.”

Jrue Holiday would definitely be an interesting move for the Warriors, as he would fit the team’s defense-first identity and give them a solid perimeter guard. He is also a decent 3PT shooter. It is also fair to say that he’s a better player than Chris Paul at this stage of his career. The gap between Holiday and Paul isn’t significant enough for the Warriors to expend assets to make the upgrade, however, but it is clear that a move for Holiday is a possibility.

Jrue Holiday Can Be A Difference-Maker For A Lot Of Teams

Though Jrue Holiday is obviously not a superstar-level player like Damian Lillard, there’s no doubt that he is an experienced veteran who can provide a huge impact with his skill set. Many teams are in need of skilled guard play, and Holiday can provide it.

It was previously reported that Jrue Holiday wanted to be a “Buck for life” before getting traded, and it is easy to see why. However, there are plenty of other teams where he can compete for a championship, and a number of teams are likely to call the Trail Blazers about his services soon.
