• Nikola Vucevic constructed a European-only starting five using current players
• Vucevic named superstars Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Nikola Jokic
• He rounded the lineup out with Bogdan Bogdanovic and Lauri Markkanen,
International talent is at an all-time high with Nikola Vucevic naming a current All-Europe starting five that could dominate on an NBA court or even in the Olympics. The Montenegro center created a masterful lineup featuring Europe’s best.
“Probably put Luka Doncic at the point guard and then Bogdan Bogdanovic. At the three, I’d probably put Lauri Markkanen. At the four, Giannis Antetokounmpo and at the five, Nikola Jokic.”
Nikola Vucevic's best active European starting 5:
PG: Luka Doncic
SG: Bogdan Bogdanovic
SF: Lauri Markkanen
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo
C: Nikola Jokic

If this was an all-international lineup, it’s fair to say we’d see a team that would arguably be the best in the world. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would be great next to Luka in a backcourt, while Jokic and Giannis can definitely make space for a player like Joel Embiid.
Either way, this lineup shows that the best in the NBA might be coming from international rosters nowadays.
How Would Nikola Vucevic’s Starting Five Play?
Bogdan Bogdanovic is the weakest link in the lineup, but he could thrive on open shots created by the likes of Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Nikola Jokic. Lauri Markkanen is a pure scorer who can be efficient from any point on the court.
The team will be run by its star, as Luka handles full-court ball-handling and playmaking responsibilities, sharing with Jokic. Jokic would be the primary post playmaker, meaning Luka will have to work on his off-ball movement to maximize their system.
Giannis will be the free-roam defensive monster that could switch one through five on the court and be a versatile defensive presence on a lineup with less-than-stellar defenders. The team’s size, with a 6’8″ point guard and three frontcourt players who are 6’10” or taller would be a devastating asset.
