  • Former Warriors swingman says former no. overall pick is “different”
  • Iggy couldn’t believe Ant is just 6’4″
  • Edwards is the face of the Timberwolves after impressive three-year run

The Minnesota Timberwolves haven’t done much in the modern NBA era, but the rise of Anthony Edwards could change everything for them. After years of being in the gutter of the Western Conference, the Timberwolves finally have a true superstar in the form of Anthony Edwards, who is on the path to being a franchise player.

For now, the doubts are still many for Ant, but he is making quite a name for himself in the NBA. Speaking on the young Minnesota star, former Warriors veteran Andre Iguodala gave him a glowing review on a recent segment of his podcast.

“He’s 6’4″ and that’s what makes it crazier. The kid came at me full speed one time and he did the in-and-out and there was absolutely nothing I can do. This kid, he’s different… all he needs is 2 months of Miami basketball and it’s over with.”

Of course, Edwards still has a lot to prove as a 22-year-old with a single All-Star appearance. But he often shows flashes of his potential, and people can see that he’s no ordinary youngster.

Averaging 24.6 points per game for the Timberwolves last season, Ant proved he could score in myriads of ways, and now it’s time for him to prove he can lead.

Can Anthony Edwards Shock The World?

As the first pick in the 2020 draft, it’s no secret that Edwards has some amazing potential. He can do virtually everything when it comes to offense, and he’s got the kind of competitive spirit that all teams want from their top player.

“I just have team goals. All the individual stuff will come when you win as a team. We wanna win 50 games this year,” Ant said in an interview with Shams Charania. “We wanna get KAT to an MVP level this year. We want Rudy [Gobert] to be the Defensive Player of the Year. We just want all the things that’s supposed to be. We’re gonna work for it. This year, we’re gonna be a lot better.”

As a team, Minnesota still has a long way to go, but with the presence of Edwards, they have a chance to do something special. Hopefully, for the team’s sake, they figure out how to build a contender, or things could get ugly fast.
