  • Jeff Teague recently claimed James Harden is a greater player than Dwyane Wade
  • Teague pointed to Wade always having great teammates when he had success
  • A comparison of Harden and Wade’s teammates has since gone viral

Former NBA All-Star Jeff Teague raised some eyebrows recently when he stated he has James Harden ahead of Dwyane Wade when ranking the greatest shooting guards in NBA history. One of Teague’s arguments was that Wade never had success when he didn’t have a great player alongside him like Shaquille O’Neal or LeBron James.

Following those comments, a comparison of Wade and Harden’s teammates went viral and fans reacted to it.

One thinks Wade is better than Harden and it’s not even close.

A fan stated Harden’s prime is underrated.

One fan believes Wade is better, having actually won a title as the first option.

A fan argued that Wade played with two top 10 players of all time while none of Harden’s teammates would rank that high.

One fan simply stated the player who got the ring is better.

The comparison doesn’t really take into account what stage of their career these teammates were in. Ray Allen was well past his best when he teamed up with Wade while Dwight Howard wasn’t at his peak when he was with Harden either

When you look at just the two players themselves, it is a difficult comparison. Harden has had more success on an individual level, with multiple scoring and assist titles to go with an MVP. Wade, meanwhile, only won one scoring title but does have three championships and a Finals MVP to his name. Stephen A. Smith thinks Wade is better all-time and ultimately, championships tend to be the determining factor in a lot of these debates.

James Harden Reportedly Viewed Dwyane Wade’s Titles As A Roadblock To Being Ranked Above Him

Harden has his critics, but there is no denying he is one of the greatest two guards ever. Few players in NBA history have been as effective on the offensive end and he deserves respect for that. It appears though that he doesn’t consider himself to be greater than Wade, as per NBA insider Jake Fischer.

“A championship is the one thing Harden’s resume lacks as well. People familiar with Harden’s thinking have long listed Dwyane Wade’s three titles as something Harden sees ahead of his standing on the great guard rankings in NBA history.”

If the man himself really sees it this way, then who are we to argue here? If Harden can somehow win a championship or two, then this would really be a great debate to have, but until then, the majority would side with Wade.
