• The basketball-crazy country has hosted various NBA stars this offseason including Jimmy Butler and Spencer Dinwiddie

Fandom for any sport tends to be quite intense but basketball fandom is among the most intense worldwide. China is said to be the largest consumer of the sport ahead of the United States, which means that NBA fever often grips the world’s most populous country.

Andrew Wiggins was promoting his newest shoe in China when a fan tried to get past security to get a signature from the former NBA Champion. Though the kid couldn’t interact with Wiggins face-to-face, people ensured he could get his sneakers autographed, prompting him to burst out in tears

Wiggins is crucial to the Warriors’ future plans, signing a team-friendly contract extension last summer. The team greatly felt his absence over the winter as he dealt with a personal situation. He averaged 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists last season and is ready to take another step next season.

Who’s The Secondary Option In Golden State?

Everyone knows that Stephen Curry is the one person the entire team gravitates around. But with Jordan Poole gone, who was the team’s second-leading scorer last season, who will fill that gap?

Klay Thompson is in a contract year and will want to prove to the team he can still be the No. 2 offensive option on the squad. Wiggins is younger and more athletic, so he may be better suited to take the brunt of the responsibilities.

Thompson’s versatility and off-ball movement make him the ideal secondary option whereas Wiggins has previously struggled in Minnesota where he was trying to be the primary option, a role he clearly wasn’t suited for.
