Forward Ben Simmons was once an All-Star level player during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers, being well-known for his slashing, defense, and athleticism. However, he has not been able to replicate that form with the Brooklyn Nets, and many have criticized him for his timidness on the offensive end.

Recently, Brooklyn Nets GM Sean Marks has claimed that the team hopes that Ben Simmons can become an All-Star once again. Marks noted that the key for Simmons is going to be health.

“I think the hope is that he returns to that (All-Star) level of play. I mean, if he was 35 years old, I wouldn’t honestly be able to tell you that. But I think knowing that he’s mid-20s and he has still hopefully not reached his prime, we’ve gotta make sure he can get back out there and get back to that form. And hopefully, we see his game even evolve past that. But health is going to be the key to him.”

Sean Marks on expectations for Ben Simmons next season:

Perhaps the injury issues that Ben Simmons has been dealing with are part of what is causing his passive mentality on the offensive end. Hopefully, we see him get back to the best version of himself.

During the 2022-23 regular season with the Brooklyn Nets, Ben Simmons averaged 6.9 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 6.1 APG. He still has the ability to turn his career around, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

Ben Simmons Seems To Believe He Can Return To All-Star Form

Ben Simmons has been hard at work this offseason, and perhaps we will see him have a great season next year. It seems as though his camp believes that he can return to All-Star form.

“The group around Ben has noticed a complete change in Ben’s focus and mentality [through] this rehab and how he has attacked it and engaged with everything and there is a lot of belief in him being able to return to his All-Star form.” (h/t New York Post)

Hopefully, the work that Ben Simmons puts in this offseason pays off for him. He can definitely be an important player for this Brooklyn Nets team, and we’ll see what happens in the future regarding his play.
