Grant Williams poked fun at Donovan Mitchell after he saw the Cleveland Cavaliers guard bench pressing with a chest pad.
Taking to Twitter, Williams replied to Mitchell saying, “Chestpad brother…how old are we.”

The fun banter comes after Williams was acquired by the Dallas Mavericks as part of a three-team trade. He will sign a four-year, $54 million deal before being dealt to the Mavs. Dallas will send swingman Reggie Bullock and a 2030 pick swap to the San Antonio Spurs.
According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, the Celtics will receive a 2024 and 2028 second-round pick from the Mavs and a 2025 second-round pick swap. The Mavericks will also receive two second-round picks from Boston in the deal.
Now, he will play alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, while Donovan Mitchell will play for the Cavaliers for his second season with the side. Trade details aside, it’s fun to see these players engaging in the off-season banter.
The Cleveland Cavaliers Could Trade Donovan Mitchell If The Team Struggles This Season
With all the trade news surrounding the team, much has been said about Donovan Mitchell’s future with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
According to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, the team may trade Mitchell if the team struggles in the upcoming season.
“Donovan Mitchell. Cleveland has to try to prove over the next year it’s worth having Mitchell sign up long-term,” Bontemps wrote in a recent ESPN report. “Or they’ll have to consider moving him with a year left on his deal next offseason. If the Cavaliers struggle next season, Mitchell’s name could come up.”
The prolific guard averaged 28.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 4.4 APG in the regular season. However, he couldn’t contribute at the same level in the playoffs as he dipped down to 23.2 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 7.0 APG in the first round of the postseason vs. the New York Knicks. The Knicks won the series 4-1.
It will be an interesting season for the Cavaliers as they look for a productive offseason. Maybe it will translate to another playoff run, hopefully, a lot deeper.
