Shaquille O’Neal Thinks His Superteam Would Destroy A Superteam With Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, And Stephen Curry

Shaquille O'Neal suggested that a team with Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would only manage to win a couple of games against his superteam.

Shaquille O’Neal routinely engages in theoretical debates with fans on social media, often sharing ideas that pit two teams of legends against one another in a series.

He recently shared another one on Instagram, where his superteam had a host of legends, going up against one that had Michael Jordan and Stephen Curry.

Shaquille O’Neal’s Superteam:

PG – Allen Iverson

SG – Kobe Bryant

SF – LeBron James

PF – Tim Duncan

C – Shaquille O’Neal

Opposing Superteam:

PG – Stephen Curry

SG – Michael Jordan

SF – Kevin Durant

PF – Giannis Antetokounmpo

C – Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

These teams are filled with the greatest legends the NBA has ever seen. But Shaq seems to think his team would come out on top, captioning the photo, “They might get one or two games what u think?”

But fans had a lot to say in response in the comments, here’s a look at some:

“I’m not going to pick a side here. This would be a f**king war and if I witnessed such an event I’d quit watching basketball knowing there would never be a better game.”

“Jordan’s team in 5,  respectfully.”

“Shaq, LeBron, and Kobe on a team alone are unstoppable.”

“Kobe would have KD, crying on Twitter by halftime!”

“Toughest 5 vs. 5 I could think of.”

“Game 7 eternal OT. The game will never end.”

“Nah this would be the greatest game of all time.”

“Best matchup I’ve seen. LeBron is bigger and would have to guard Durant. Kobe is on MJ. Shaq dominates in the post but Kareem and his sky hook are unstoppable. These are all great matchups.”

“Prime Kobe and Shaq on good terms are unbeatable. It don’t even matter who the other 3 are.”

“That would be such an insane matchup to watch if only it was actually possible.”

The consensus among fans seems to be that this would be a treat to watch, although, of course, we’ll never know. It’s hard to pick a winner between these two teams but it’s not impossible.

Shaquille O’Neal’s Team Would Lose This Series

Shaquille O’Neal has certified legends on his team, but they would lose in a 7-game series against the other team. The reasons are fairly simple. At point guard, Stephen Curry is a better shooter than Allen Iverson and isn’t too far behind when it comes to handling or finishing. The defense also isn’t drastically different.

At the shooting guard position, Michael Jordan is better than Kobe Bryant, the Mamba never surpassed his idol. LeBron James is ahead of Kevin Durant individually, but in a game like this, Durant’s incredible shooting will prove to be a massive advantage. Tim Duncan is likewise over Giannis, but in this scenario, wouldn’t be the ideal candidate as he essentially played the same position as Shaq.

Finally, the battle of the centers is a toss-up, although Kareem Abdul-Jabbar surely has a case when going up against Shaquille O’Neal. Overall, when the styles of play and strengths are considered, it’s safe to say that Shaq’s team might lose a 7-game series. What a treat it would be to watch, though.
