Charlotte Hornets pick Brandon Miller picked LeBron James over Michael Jordan. It was vice-versa by the Los Angeles Lakers’ 17th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Jalen Hood-Schifino.

In an interview that’s doing the rounds on social media, the top picks were asked to choose between MJ and LeBron. The picks had their say as well. Scoot Henderson picked the Lakers’ superstar, as did No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama.

When it was Miller and Jalen’s turn, one picked LeBron, while the latter picked the Chicago Bulls’ icon.

It’s surprising that Miller picked LeBron over his team owner, while the Lakers’ rookie picked MJ over his future teammate. After all, the GOAT debate has raged on, with the MJ winning the contest so far. Sure, the case goes on, but it’s still interesting to see most of these young guns picking a more recent talent over the unparalleled greatness that was Jordan.

Guess it’s a generational thing. These prospects haven’t seen MJ during his playing days and their formative years were all LeBron and his rise in the NBA. Perhaps, that’s the only working theory.

Brandon Miller Calls LeBron James As The Best Player In The League, But Picks Paul George As His GOAT

In what comes as a perfect explanation to our thoughts above, Miller respected LeBron, but ultimately and shockingly picked Paul George as his GOAT. And he had his explanation ready.

“I grew up watching Paul George, not LeBron,” Miller told Taylor Rooks. “I’d never knock LeBron. LeBron is definitely the best in the league but I’m a Paul George fan. I thought I made it clear that my GOAT was Paul George.”

Miller made it clear again that he’s not taking a shot at LeBron. It’s just that George is his favorite player. To be honest, there’s no real harm done, after all, it’s one man’s opinion. Only time will tell how it pans out for Miller when he plays against his GOAT and one of the more illustrious superstars when he takes the floor.

Brave new world.
