Draymond Green was drafted using the 35th overall pick by the Golden State Warriors in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Since entering the league, Green and the Dubs have been mainstays in the postseason. So much so that Green has missed the playoffs just twice in his career. Keeping that in mind, Marc J. Spears of Andscape recently asked the four-time NBA champion how he manages to spend time with his children come playoff time.

“You give that time, and that focus,” Green told Spears. “But it may be some late hours, and maybe some early mornings that you got to put the commitment into what we’re doing here. But at the same time, I still want to be there and still pour into them. So maybe it’s late hours during that time. You just find those times that you can do.”

Green added: “I give everything that I got to give to this game. And it is not so great hours. It is what it is. But I don’t want to make them sacrifice their dad because I’m on a mission. No, that’s my mission, and this is my mission. And how do I make them both work?”

Draymond has two biological children – Draymond Jamal Green Jr. and Cash Green. The Dubs star also has a stepdaughter, Olive Jay. It’s obvious that when Green’s not on the court, he loves to spend time with his kids.

Over the course of his career, Draymond has learned how to juggle between playing basketball in the playoffs while still spending as much time as possible with his family.

Draymond Green Shared A Wholesome Moment With His Children During The 2023 NBA Playoffs

Draymond Green isn’t someone who makes claims without backing them. Be it on or off the court, Dray always gives his 100% to stay true to his words.

Green showed how he spends time with his kids during the postseason following a 127-110 win in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2023 playoffs.

“When you’re just able to get the energy of children in here, it’s always special. That’s something that I don’t take for granted,” Green said.

“These are memories that will last a lifetime. We miss so much time with our kids,” Green said of getting his kids on the podium. “I think it’s not just us as basketball players; you have an obligation to provide for your child. Growing up in the circumstances that I grew up in, I never want them to experience that.”

Draymond Green may have built a mean on-court persona, but he is an amazing father off the court. NBA fans would love to hear more of Green’s stories about his kids and family in the future.
