DeMar DeRozan Agrees With LeBron James That Bronny James Is Better Than Some NBA Players

LeBron James claimed earlier this year that his son Bronny James was already better than some NBA players, and DeMar DeRozan agreed with him.

Bronny James isn’t too far away from getting into the NBA now after he committed to USC earlier this month.

Even before that, however, his father LeBron James had raised some eyebrows by claiming he is already better than some NBA players. DeMar DeRozan was asked about those comments during an appearance on Podcast P and he agreed with James.

“We do got a lot of sorry motherf***ers in the league, imma be honest,” DeRozan said. “I’m the type of dude, I keep my opinions to myself, I chill, I play the backseat, but being in the league so long, you realize how many motherf***ers don’t love the game of basketball, who take it for granted, who feel so entitled, who just want everything that comes with it, but don’t want to put the work in. It’s so frustrating. We played in an era where you had to earn everything. You got so many guys coming in thinking they should be playing because their homeboy told them they nice and it’s like, ‘Bro you’re not good.’ So, I definitely got Bron’s standpoint of that, because you’d be surprised.”

(starts at 25:47 mark):

While you wouldn’t have thought the number would be too high, Paul George went on to say that 75-100 out of the 450 players in the NBA today stink. You would have to take their word for it here as they were in total agreement but that is still a very high number.

Bronny’s NBA prospects look pretty good if he is already better than these many in the league. He seems to have a real love for the game just like his father and doesn’t look like the type who would take things for granted, as he has been praised for his humility.

Bronny James Has Been Projected To Be A Top 10 Pick

It wasn’t too long back that there were doubts on whether Bronny was good enough to make it to the NBA but some strong showings in his senior year in high school have led to his stock rising significantly. Many scouts believe he has solidified himself as a clear NBA player down the road.

ESPN projected him to be a top-10 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and that would be quite an achievement. It is highly unlikely that Bronny will become a superstar like his father but he looks set to have a pretty good career if he keeps his head down and works hard on his game.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
