Ben Simmons’ Future In The NBA Looks Shaky: “I Gave Up Following That Sumb**ch A Long Time Ago”

Ben Simmons has had a forgettable couple of seasons in the NBA, and now his future in the league is on shaky grounds after a scathing comment from an anonymous Western Conference executive.

Per one of the executives who spoke to Steve Bulpett of Heavy Sports, “I gave up following that sumb**ch a long time ago.” This comes as a major snub on the guard who has struggled throughout this season for the Nets.

Simmons averaged just 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 42 games this season for Brooklyn — his career-lowest, and his future with the Brooklyn Nets hangs in the balance.

This development comes on the back of the guard’s closest observers hinting that he could return to his All-Star form in the upcoming season.

According to the New York Post: “The group around Ben has noticed a complete change in Ben’s focus and mentality [through] this rehab and how he has attacked it and engaged with everything and there is a lot of belief in him being able to return to his All-Star form.”

For now, Simmons’ dwindling run has seen him lose interest in some parties, but only time will tell if he can indeed regain the lost touch.

Ben Simmons To The Atlanta Hawks?

One of the rumors doing the rounds is Simmons’ possible move to the Atlanta Hawks. Earlier, an NBA insider revealed that the Nets were interested in acquiring John Collins in the offseason, and that would be possible only if they find a party interested in taking on Simmons’ contract.

“The Nets want some guys who can score, and (Collins) can score. But the only way they (the Nets) can really do something big, can really get someone who can score in there, is if they can get a taker for Ben Simmons,” one league executive told Heavy. “There aren’t a lot of teams where that would make sense, but Atlanta is one of them because you need to build a defensive group around Trae Young.

While the rumor mills will surely keep churning, it’s interesting to see where Simmons will land, and if the Western Conference executive’s words are anything to go by, then a West Coast team willing to take him in looks unlikely.
