Nick Wright shifted his focus on a misfiring Jordan Poole’s contract saying the Golden State Warriors need to be worried about his hefty deal rather than the demoralizing Game 4 loss against the Los Angeles Lakers.
“Something far scarier for the Warriors than being down 3-1 in this series…” Wright tweeted, posting a screenshot of Poole’s contract details from Spotrac.

Poole had a woeful Game 4 going pointless. And he played just over 10 minutes for the whole contest.
Earlier this season, he signed a 4-year / $128,000,000 contract with the Warriors, including $123,000,000 guaranteed. Now, his string of inconsistent performances has led analysts and experts to question whether he was worth the lucrative deal.
The postseason has seen Poole average 10.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. Looked at as Stephen Curry’s successor as a prolific guard, Poole disappointed, and that had Wright focus more on his contract.
Gilbert Arenas Says The Warriors Must Consider Trading Jordan Poole
Earlier, Gilbert Arenas opined that Golden State must consider trading Jordan Poole following his erratic outings. Speaking on his show, he said, “Watching [Jordan] Poole right now, I might trade him.”
There’s no doubt that Poole has been a potent offensive weapon off the bench for the Warriors, but his game awareness and unwarranted aggressiveness have raised eyebrows, especially in clutch time for the side. His defensive woes were laid bare this season as well.
Earlier, his postgame conference left the Warriors unit and even the beat reporter worried. “I happened to be in the locker room when Jordan Poole spoke,” said NBC Sports Bay Area’s Kerith Burke.
“It’s been a while since he spoke, but before we get to the words that he said, let me just paint a picture of what that locker room was like. So the Warriors PR was coming over and saying ‘Jordan, could you please talk postgame?’ He seemed a little reluctant. You could tell he was very frustrated. He was facing his locker, actually, so as the reporters gathered around him, when it became clear he would talk to us, his back was to us.
It’s not easy to be in Poole’s shoes right now, but perhaps he could use the scathing criticism as motivation to get his mojo back.
