Los Angeles Clippers GM Throws Shade At Kawhi Leonard After Elimination: “We Have To Get Back To Honoring And Respecting The Regular Season.”

Lawrence Frank had some strong words to say about the way the Los Angeles Clippers are approaching the NBA regular season.

The Los Angeles Clippers suffered another painful defeat in the NBA playoffs this year at the hands of the overpowered Phoenix Suns.

Kawhi Leonard missed the last three games due to another knee injury, sparking many reactions around the league. Clippers’ general manager Lawrence Frank recently reflected on this season, seemingly taking a jab at the Klaw, famous for sitting out games during the regular season.

“We have to be honest with ourselves,” said Lawrence. “We have to look in the mirror. It starts with me. We have to get back to honoring and respecting the regular season.”

Frank said that this wasn’t a knock to anybody, but it’s pretty clear that the Clippers have failed to live up to expectations in the playoffs due to their lack of chemistry, which is built during the regular season.

“The regular season matters,” Frank added, via RealGM. “Not that our guys don’t think it matters. I think all of us, starting with me, we can compete harder every single day. We can hold each other accountable every day.”

Kawhi’s load management hasn’t worked as expected, and the player has received a lot of criticism for that. It seemed like all of that didn’t work this season, as he once again left his team hanging after picking another injury at the worst moment.

At least we could see flashes of his best version while he was healthy, which should give the Clippers hope that they can come back next season. However, if Leonard can’t stay healthy, that would become a huge issue for the team, who keeps trying to win without any success.

Kawhi Leonard Has Been Diagnosed With A Torn Meniscus

His most recent injury is a torn meniscus. He is reportedly studying the best course of action to heal this knee while the Clippers get ready to face another offseason full of questions regarding their two stars.

The Clips know the clock is ticking, and they must deliver a championship soon. Otherwise, this would be another failed superteam attempt that has included John Wall and Russell Westbrook.

Frank admits he’s one of those who needs to be held accountable, but at the end of the day, the players are the ones doing the most important job to get championships.
