After the 2022-23 NBA season ended for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards finds himself in trouble for some actions he allegedly committed after losing to the Denver Nuggets in Game 4 of their first-round series.
Edwards could face legal action after allegedly swinging a chair at security staffers at Ball Arena, but his attorney has released a statement rejecting the claims made by the Denver Police.
“With the game over, Anthony’s exit from the court was partially obstructed by a chair, which he moved and set down three steps later. As video of the incident confirms, Anthony did not swing the chair at anyone and, of course did not intend to hurt anyone.
“Despite these innocent facts, the Denver Police Department inexplicably chose to charge Anthony with two counts of misdemeanor assault. Anthony intends to vigorously defend against these baseless charges.”

As soon as he missed a game-winning three vs. the Denver Nuggets, Edward ran into the locker room. It was during this moment that he allegedly swung this chair. He allegedly hit two Nuggets employees who decided to file charges against the young superstar.
Anthony Edwards Has Been Involved In More Than One Controversy This Season
This isn’t the first time Edwards has been involved in controversy in the last year. Back in September, he used homophobic language against a group of gay men and went on Instagram to make fun of them.
This earned him a lot of criticism and prompted him to apologize for his language and behavior.
Great as he is on the court, Edwards is still young and tends to make mistakes. We all do, and we hope this situation gets solved in the best way for all parties involved.
Edwards’ team needs to make some decisions this offseason, especially after the Rudy Gobert trade didn’t work as expected. The player even liked a tweet destroying that move, which explains that things aren’t that good within the organization.
