NFL star and Super Bowl champion James Jones was the latest to add to the theory of players fearing Michael Jordan more than LeBron James.
The basis of his theory was Dillon Brooks calling the 38-year-old Los Angeles Lakers superstar old during Game 2 of the first-round playoffs between the Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies.
“This shows nobody fears LeBron, none of these young players fear him like they feared Mike,” Jones said on The Carton Show.

Jones’ comments further add fuel to Mario Chalmers, who sent the NBA into a tizzy when he said Jordan was more feared than James.
“Nobody fears Bron [James],” Chalmers said. “Nobody’s like, ‘Damn, I gotta go play against Bron tonight.’ Nobody said that. I don’t know why? Because I seen people be scared when they line up to him. But they’re not scared thinking about that matchup. You hear anybody from that era talk about going against Jordan, there’s a fear.”
Brooks slammed James during Game 2. “I don’t care, he’s old. I was waiting for that, I was expecting him to do that Game 4 or Game 5,” he said.
“He wanted to say something when I got my 4th foul, he didn’t say anything early on. But you know, I poke bears. I don’t respect no one until they come in and give me 40. So, I pride myself on defense and taking on any challenge.”
Clearly, Brooks and the Grizzlies are not backing down from the challenge of facing James. It remains to be seen how the veteran responds to it.
LeBron James’ Trash Talk To Dillon Brooks Suggests The Beef Is Far From Done
While James has been constantly in the news over the ‘fear factor’ debate, he wasn’t one to back down from Brooks’ trash talk.
The forward slammed the Grizzlies guard after making a tough shot, although the latter did celebrate and snub James flush in the face.
These comments are not likely to bother James, who has maintained his stance of winning a championship. Despite the skirmish, he was unfazed to pour 28 points though the result went in favor of the Grizzlies.
Only time will tell if James will have the last.
