The Los Angeles Lakers managed to win an OT thriller against the Minnesota Timberwolves to solidify their position as the 7th seed in the West for the playoffs.

The game was a thriller for the wrong reasons, with both teams playing bad offense toward the end of the game. The defense was immaculate but the offense was wooden and Charles Barkley said after that the Lakers didn’t deserve to win the game but did so because the Wolves choked.

“They didn’t deserve to win this game tonight. This was all about the Wolves choking this game away.”

Barkley also said the game was ‘awful basketball’ while discussing it with Ernie Johnson on the show.

Ernie: “Are you not entertained?”

Charles Barkley: “I was not. That was awful basketball”

A win is a win, no matter how ugly it is. There will be referee controversies that will follow this game as well, but the result ultimately will remain the same. The Los Angeles Lakers are going to face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Lakers Ready To Take On The Grizzlies

The Grizzlies will be licking their chops at the opportunity to slay the Lakers in the playoffs. Beating LeBron James in the playoffs is a career highlight for many and it would be the perfect validation for this Grizzlies’ squad to pull off this series win, even though they’re the highest seed.

Players like Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks will be excited about this matchup but no narratives should distract any of the players from the task at hand. It’s going to be a fun series with both teams pushing to advance. I wonder if Shannon Sharpe will be in attendance for these games…
