The 2023 NBA MVP race gets more interesting by the day, and more people voice their opinion on the same, showing their support to the two best candidates, Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid.

As it happened last season, the two big men are going at it for the coveted award, and for Tracy McGrady, the Serbian center is the one that should get the prize.

“I have Jokic and Embiid one and two. I think they equally have an advantage to win it. But, I’m leaning toward Jokic because he’s not playing with an All-Star, his team is No. 1 in the West, 29 triple-doubles, and to me, he gets everybody involved. He’s not a defensive player like Embiid, but I think the impact that he does so many other things that really equals out to what Embiid brings to his team. The man is incredible,” T-Mac said.

Just like McGrady, other people think Jokic is the rightful MVP winner. Kendrick Perkins recently called out Joel Embiid for ‘ducking smoke’ in a direct duel against the Joker.

This race is getting more interesting every day, and the next games will define who will get the biggest individual award in the league.

Only Three Players Can Win The MVP Award This Season

In our last MVP ranking, it was defined that only three players can aspire to win the MVP award. Besides these two, Giannis Antetokounmpo is part of the conversation, and if his Milwaukee Bucks finish the season at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, he could make a surprising run and shock both Jokic and Embiid.

This is an interesting ending of the season that will define so many things, including who gets the coveted MVP award. Jokic could become the first player to win it three consecutive times since Larry Bird, and Embiid could become the third consecutive international player to get it after Giannis and Jokic.
