Cam Reddish’s time with the New York Knicks wasn’t as smooth as desired, as the player was never welcomed in New York.

Talking about his limited playing time with the squad, Reddish made some big claims, blaming ‘politics’ and ‘favoritism’ for his lack of action.

“It was tough, but at the same time, it ain’t even about basketball,” Reddish said. “It had nothing to do with basketball. It was all the politics, all the favoritism. S–t like that. That’s why I wasn’t too worried about it.”

He’s now in a different situation, trying to help the Portland Trail Blazers compete in the Western Conference. Reddish was linked with other teams before the trade deadline, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks.

However, he ended up landing in Portland, where he feels good after his forgettable stint with the Knickerbockers.

“I’m in a completely different place. Now I’m blessed. Not everybody gets another opportunity so it’s refreshing,” Reddish told the New York Daily News. “I got some great teammates. Great staff. It’s real positive around here. Win, lose or draw. It’s not somebody beating you over your head — not that that was happening in New York — but it’s more my style.”

He’s very appreciated in Portland now, and even though they aren’t in the best position this season, Cam is happy that he has the chance to play.

New York Knicks Could Make Another Big Trade This Summer

The New York Knicks, on the other hand, are having a great season, ranking 5th in the Eastern Conference standings, and hunting the Cleveland Cavaliers for that 4th seed. The Knickerbockers could make a big trade this offseason and get rid of another former lottery pick in RJ Barrett.

The point guard is playing at a good level this season, but he’s not considered a closer by the team. Despite having a great season, Barrett could be shipped over the summer as the Knicks keep looking for options to improve their level.

After missing out on Donovan Mitchell last season, they could try to make another big move in the trade market. Zach LaVine has been mentioned as a potential target for them, but this is the Knicks we’re talking about, and they could star in another fiasco.
