NBA superstar Ja Morant may be as exciting as they come on the court, but his activities in private are starting to jeopardize his legacy and good standing with the basketball community.

In response to the growing backlash, which included flashing a gun on his IG Live, Morant issued a response where he claimed to take full responsibility for his actions. Apparently, he also deleted all forms of social media.

As a starter in this year’s All-Star game, Ja is clearly seen as one of the premier faces of the league and one of the biggest rising stars in the game. This season in Memphis is his best statistically so far, with averages of 27.1 points, 8.2 assists, and 6 rebounds per game on 46.3% shooting.

Unfortunately, Morant’s character off the court has called his leadership into question and nobody is sure how the Grizzlies will handle it as the season presses on.

Ja Morant Is Fighting To Save His Reputation

Moran’ts increasingly erratic behavior paints him in a new light to many fans across the league who were once sold on the Grizzlies as a legitimate threat in the West.

And while Memphis is still a force to be feared in the NBA, Ja still has a long way to go if he wants to win back the trust of the fans.

“Ja, just move differently bruh, that’s the only advice,” said Shannon Sharpe. “I would never give you any advice about how to play basketball, but I would try to give you advice about how to move. Let someone else’s lesson be your lesson.”

Morant and his agent have already fired back against the reports with their own version of events, but nobody is convinced that the Grizzlies star has any remorse for his behavior.

“I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down,” said Ja in a statement. “I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”

In this case, actions really do speak louder than words. Ja can say and publish whatever he wants, but avoiding any more of these issues is the only way to get back on track and take the Grizzlies back to a healthy state in the West.
