We all know what Nuggets star Nikola Jokic can do on the court. But have you ever seen him in the huddle?
Apparently, the 2x MVP is already showing off his coaching ability (and brilliant basketball IQ) as he draws up plays for the Nuggets. In a recent viral video, we can see the Joker explain his scheme to his very attentive teammates on the bench.
A glimpse into one of the Nuggets huddles tonight. Jokić takes the whiteboard and talks with his teammates. This is just a little clip of it, but this is leadership. pic.twitter.com/kBc8qm6aJd

In a time where guys like Ja Morant are in news cycles for all the wrong reasons, this is a display of leadership that we can all appreciate. For Jokic, his impact doesn’t just come as a scorer and playmaker on the court, it also comes as a game-planner, strategizer, and communicator.
Really, the Nuggets have two coaches on the floor during their games and it may be part of the reason why they are enjoying another successful season.
Nikola Jokic Is Under Major Pressure To Win A Title This Season
As great as Jokic has been for Denver all season long (averaging 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 10 assists per game), he still has a lot to prove in terms of playoff success.
So far, the 2x MVP has just one Conference Finals appearance to his name and it seems the Nuggets always flame out when the stakes are at their highest.
“If they were healthy, I’d pick the Lakers,” said Colin Cowherd. “I don’t trust Denver in the West. Playoff basketball is about being great at stuff. It’s not about depth. It’s not about plaques. It’s not about MVPs. The Lakers, when AD and LeBron are healthy, they have things they’re great at.”
So, there is clearly a level of uncertainty when it comes to the Denver Nuggets and their status as title contenders. But this season, Jokic is aiming to change that as he leads his team to the top of the standings once again.
If he can help the Nuggets secure home-court advantage, and the roster manages to stay healthy, it could be all Jokic needs to make a serious run for the championship.
But until he actually pulls it off, there will always be a hint of doubt about his career and status as one of the NBA’s all-time greats. It’s now or never for Denver and this may be their best chance yet to end their season with the ultimate prize.
