Lakers Fans Discuss How Many Of Their Next 5 Games They Can Win Without LeBron James

Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers had some thoughts on how many games they can expect their team to win out of the next 5.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a 30-33 record and are the 12th seed in the Western Conference, but are just 2.5 games out of the 6th seed following their win against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The team needs to find a way to win more than they lose in their last 19 games of the season though and now must do that for a stretch without LeBron James. Fans on Reddit are already speculating how many wins they can pull off in their next 5 games.

Los Angeles Lakers Next 5 Games:

Lakers vs. Timberwolves

Lakers vs. Warriors

Lakers vs. Grizzlies

Lakers vs. Raptors

Lakers vs. Knicks

The Lakers are at home for their next 5 games. Three of those are against Western Conference teams, and all are at home. And a fan asked how many of those games they can win, putting out an optimistic estimate, saying, “Can we go 4-1 with AD and DLo?”

Another fan agreed, suggesting that 4 wins are possible with a certain caveat: “If Steph doesn’t play, 4-1 is realistic… honestly NY will be a tough game, they’ve been balling lately, and Brunson is playing as well as anyone in the league.”

Some have gone one step beyond, with another predicting 5 straight wins, claiming, “F**k it, we could go 5-0. No more turnover issues, and we should be good.”

D’Angelo Russell returning to the team is paramount, as someone pointed out: “DLo is our best playmaker outside of LeBron and without both of them we have done pretty well. Getting him back is gonna be a great relief for us.”

And fans are feeling positive in general, with one comment summing up the consensus: “Honestly, fine with dropping 2 of MEM, TOR, NY as long as we win the first two. Otherwise, 4-1 would be fantastic.”

There is no telling if the Los Angeles Lakers will be able to make this happen, but they have to step up if they want to make any noise this season.

What Games Do The Lakers Need To Win?

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors are well within reach of the Lakers, so winning those two games is paramount. The other games are significant but with teams so tight in the Western Conference, beating the Wolves and the Warriors is a necessity for the team, with Anthony Davis the man that will have to step up.

D’Angelo Russell likely won’t be back for the Timberwolves game but should return against the Warriors, giving the team a boost. If the Lakers can go 4-1 without LeBron James, they will reach a .500 record and be set up nicely to close the season out.
