James Harden is one of the Philadelphia 76ers’ two stars, being well-known for his scoring and playmaking ability. There’s no doubt that he will be key for their playoff run this year, and the team will need him to play at a high level if they are to make it far in a competitive Eastern Conference.
Even though he is in a solid situation right now, there are rumors that James Harden could leave the Philadelphia 76ers and join the Houston Rockets. Recently, Daryl Morey responded to the speculation about the guard’s future.
“I know he’s just focused on this season and not the offseason, but I know that he’s focused on winning the championship,” Morey stated. “He’s gonna be wherever he feels like he has the best chance. Obviously, his pairing with Embiid is very, very good and we feel like it’s a great pairing for the long term.”
There is no doubt that this is an interesting response from Morey. While Morey didn’t necessarily say anything negative about the guard’s future, he didn’t do much to squash the rumors. It will be interesting to see what James Harden ends up doing in free agency, and he will definitely have a number of suitors in free agency.
James Harden is currently averaging 21.6 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 10.7 APG for the Philadelphia 76ers while shooting 39.4% from the 3PT range. He will be key for the team down the stretch, and hopefully, he shows up in the big moments this year.
James Harden Thinks That The Philadelphia 76ers Are His Best Chance To Win A Championship
Though James Harden could end up leaving the team in free agency, he could end up staying as well. The Philadelphia 76ers give him a fairly solid chance of getting far in the playoffs, and Harden even admitted that this is his best chance of winning a championship.
“Top, for sure”, said Harden when asked about how this team grades out in terms of championship chances when it comes to squads he’s been on. “We had some really good teams in Oklahoma City, then that ’18 team in Houston. But this team is definitely the best chance I’ve had to win”.
Playing with an MVP candidate in Joel Embiid definitely gives James Harden a solid chance of winning at the highest level. Though obviously, Joel Embiid hasn’t made it far in the playoffs himself, perhaps the duo can end up winning a championship this year.
