A lot has been said about James Harden’s future following his most recent contract extension, especially with another potential early playoff exit this year.

In a recent edition of the Hoops Collective, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon claimed that the Rockets believe they can get Harden again, considering all the time James Harden spends in Houston (via RealGM).

“Not just that Houston wants to, but Houston believes it is a legitimate possibility and that’s not coming out of thin air,” said Tim MacMahon. “James Harden still spends a lot of time in Houston. Spends his summers in Houston. Works out at the Rockets’ facility on a regular basis. It’s a very real possibility. And Harden, by the way, never shot it down. He just said ‘I don’t know where that came from.'”

This is definitely an interesting idea for the Texan team, as they’ve struggled a lot since Harden left in 2021. After two years outside of Houston, he could return to the Rockets and lead a group of young players ready to make some noise in the league. The Rockets have a solid core for the future, and they could add Victor Wembanyama and James Harden this summer.

James Harden Clashes With Dillon Brooks On Court

While everybody speculates about his future, Harden keeps trying to help Joel Embiid lead the Philadelphia 76ers to the promised land. On Thursday night, they clashed against the Memphis Grizzlies, and Harden starred in a controversial moment with Dillon Brooks, who has become NBA’s public enemy in recent times.

The Sixers won this game, 110-105, staying comfortable as the 3rd seed in the East. The Sixers will have a lot of work to do this season if they want to at least play in the Eastern Conference Finals. Perhaps, if the tandem of Embiid and Harden doesn’t work, they will take separate ways, and this experiment ends. If that happens, the Rockets will be patiently waiting, trying to take their chance.
