Julius Randle starred in one of the worst moments of the 2023 All-Star Weekend after a terrible performance in the 3-Point Contest. This competition takes place on Saturday every year, and while some players post incredible performances, Randle couldn’t get things done, starring in a very bad moment.

The New York Knicks star returned to the All-Star Game this season after being selected as a reserve. Randle played for Team LeBron, once again losing on Sunday after Team Giannis beat them.

But, the worst part of the weekend for Randle was his participation in the 3-PT Contest. After replacing Anfernee Simmons, Randle only made 13 points in the competition, which was half of what Damian Lillard made, the eventual winner of the contest.

The weekend is over and every team is getting ready to return to the court. Randle talked with Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Randle explained what went down behind that terrible performance.

When did you actually find out about joining the Starry 3-Point Contest? It didn’t seem like you had a lot of turnaround. Some guys get a bunch of practices in with the format.

“I found out Thursday night, I think? I was just winging it, man, honestly. Just practiced once on Friday and I was like, ‘All right, I’ll just give it a go.’ Why not? I was here.”

That was a very terrible look for Julius, but things won’t change for him, as he keeps leading the New York Knicks to compete in the Eastern Conference. The forward has recovered his best level and the team is taking big advantage of that.

Julius Randle’s Son Cried After His Father Miserably Failed In The 3-Point Contest

But still, the weekend wasn’t the best time for the Randle family, as Kyden couldn’t believe how bad his father shot the ball, even crying while watching Julius trying to do his thing.

He received a lot of comments for this, but that’s now in the past. Randle and the Knicks, who were among Kevin Durant’s sweepstakes ahead of the trade deadline, are ready to continue their season and see how far they can go in the East.
