It’s hard to believe that just a couple of seasons ago, the Los Angeles Lakers were the champions of the NBA. But since winning the NBA Championship in the 2019-20 NBA season, the Lakers have made some very questionable decisions, which have led to the organization struggling to even make it to the NBA playoffs.

One of the biggest reasons behind the Los Angeles Lakers struggles over the last two seasons or so is the constant changes in the roster. It has even frustrated their primary superstar, LeBron James.

James’ frustration is growing as he is not getting any younger, and the front office is essentially experimenting with the roster each summer. So much so that half of the team that the Lakers had last season is out of the NBA.

The Lakers had one of the oldest rosters in the NBA last season, but more than half of the players being out of the NBA in just a year is quite surprising.

Lakers Fans Are Frustrated After Finding Out More Than Half Of The Team From Last Season Is Already Out Of The League

The above-attached Instagram post from ‘Basketball Forever’ shows the lackluster decisions taken by the Lakers front office. As a result, in the comments section of the post, fans couldn’t control their frustration and lashed out. But many fans were also confused about the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, and Avery Bradley being out of the league.

tyler.cuello: yeah maybe cuz those guys are pushing 40 .

jaimarbautistadelarosa: Thats how good Our Lakers last season FR ‍♂️.

longrangejames23: Melo should be in nba uniform. Rondo the same if not a damn coach.. Dwight Howard is in better shape then half the nba… This is insane for them 3 at least.

guap_d15: The nba will try to retire u early as a laker fan all of these guys can be an assistance to any team especially melo and Dwight.

natecpatterson: A lot of dudes just need to realize that they don’t have brons longevity and retire earlier. Honestly only Melo and maybe Ellington should be on a roster.

gustofresh: They’ve all had long, wonderful careers. It ends for everyone eventually.

yourkings: These guys would all have jobs if they took the vet minimum.

instapena_: Yet this man Pelinka still has a job.

tru.bip: Thats a media team. They don’t care bout winning. Bron got his last ring. That’s all he wanted. Now he just having fun.

ryedog: Such bullshit. Some of these dudes can still play.

Most of the guys on the Lakers’ roster last season were in their thirties. That’s one of the reasons for the players being out of the league. But that doesn’t mean the Lakers’ front office has done a great job of managing their talent. In fact, since 2017, many talented players have been allowed to walk or traded by the Purple and Gold.

If they continue at this pace, they may end up losing LeBron James this summer as well. Due to the team simply not being competitive enough for James to waste the last few years of his career.
