LeBron James will soon be turning 38 years old, but the King hasn’t stopped playing basketball at an elite level even at this age. In fact, he has been arguably the best player for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2022-23 NBA season.
Sure, Anthony Davis was having a great season, but he is currently sidelined due to an injury. In his absence, the entire burden of carrying the Lakers has once again fallen on the shoulders of LeBron James.
For what it’s worth, James has been doing everything in his power to help the team win games. But so far, his efforts are going in vain, as the Lakers now have a record of 14-21. Following that, many believe James shouldn’t have joined the Purple and Gold in 2018.
A fan even suggested had LeBron joined the Houston Rockets in 2018 and formed a superteam with James Harden and Chris Paul, he could have won at least a couple of more titles by now.
If only Lebron had come to Houston to join James Harden and Chris Paul in the summer of 2018. He’d have won another couple titles with the #Rockets and would likely still be competing for them. What could’ve been. https://t.co/4PIv3XUbTB

At the time, the Rockets were one of the strongest teams in the Western Conference, and adding James to the dynamic duo of Harden and CP3 would have been great. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, as the King decided to take his talents to L.A.
Does LeBron James Want To Leave The Los Angeles Lakers?
The Los Angeles Lakers have the ability to attract big-name free agents, and they did the same in 2018 with James. Fast forward to the current year, and that decision made by LeBron doesn’t seem to be aging well.
While LeBron is still playing at a great level, but even he admitted that he doesn’t want to end his career in such a way and that he still wants to compete for NBA Championships. Many perceived this as a threat by the 37-year-old, and if that’s the case, the Lakers should certainly be worried.
James also mentioned that he still has gas left in his tank, and it’s up to his mind whether he continues to play in the NBA for the foreseeable future. If the 4x NBA champion plans to play in the league for several years, he may want to join a better team sooner rather than later.
