James Harden proved he is one of the greatest scorers of this generation during his prime with the Houston Rockets, where Harden collected 3 consecutive scoring titles and even won MVP. However, the Rockets’ championship window clearly passed them by and they moved Harden to the Brooklyn Nets for future assets, which they’ve used to build a nice young core at the moment.
Harden would force his way to the Philadelphia 76ers from the Nets and signed a discounted contract extension this offseason to go all-out and compete with the team. However, he can opt out and re-enter free agency next season, where Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Harden is angling to return to the Rockets.

While Harden didn’t deny the report, it’s fair for him to be upset about such a question. Harden switching teams has been a sensitive topic and it might raise uproar if he returns to the Rockets two-and-a-half years after forcing his way out of the team.

Objectively speaking, Harden had the most stability in his career when he was with the Rockets. He became one of the best in the league and possibly could have won a title if the superteam Golden State Warriors didn’t exist.
