LeBron James is rewriting what we think of players and their longevity with his incredible career in the NBA. In his 20th season in the league, LeBron scored 34 points in a win 2 weeks before his 38th birthday. The man is still playing at an elite level that no player his age or with the same miles on their body has achieved.
Considering LeBron’s performance in the Lakers’ win over Detroit, there shouldn’t be many questions about his place in the league. While he might not be top 10 among active players, he still is top 15 by even the lowest standard. That’s scary because teammate Dennis Schroder has revealed to German media that LBJ intends on playing 5-7 more years in the NBA.

James has made his desire to play with his eldest son, Bronny very clear. Bronny won’t enter the league before 2024, so 2 more years is what many expected at the minimum. Increasing that to 5 and playing with both his sons might be an incredible accomplishment for LBJ.
Will LeBron James Actually Play Till He Is 45?
Spending 7 more years in the NBA means LeBron will play till age 45 and possibly stay in the league beyond rivals that were drafted over 5 years later. That doesn’t seem possible, given the heavy load of minutes LBJ has played over his extremely long career.
It’s hard to imagine him staying in the league as a player after amassing a billion-dollar fortune from his work over the last 2 decades. But basketball isn’t about the money for everyone, and LeBron will play until his body finally tells him he can’t play any longer.
