Antonio Daniels Believes Patrick Beverley Is The Perfect Piece Alongside LeBron James And Anthony Davis: “This Is A Great A+ Trade For The Los Angeles Lakers”

The Los Angeles Lakers made a risky move a couple of days ago when they traded young assets in Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson to the Utah Jazz for Patrick Beverley, who ended up in Utah when the Minnesota Timberwolves traded for Rudy Gobert.

The Lakers roster for next season was looking extremely average, and it was obvious the team needed to make moves. After failing to land Kyrie Irving, the Lakers had to pivot to making a move for Beverley, who will be a character in the locker room. Hopefully, he is a character that can hold LeBron James and Anthony Davis accountable.

Former NBA player Antonio Daniels broke down the trade for Beverley, exclaiming how much he loves it for the Lakers, even if Beverley isn’t as strong of a shooter as he used to be.

“That is the best for him. This is a great situation for Patrick Beverley and the Los Angeles Lakers. This is a great trade for them. I know you can look at it in a ‘Beverley doesn’t score a lot, he doesn’t bring the fit. LeBron needs shooting around him, Anthony Davis needs shooting around him.’ You know what else they need around them? Patrick Beverley. They need this type of guy on their roster. This is a great A+ trade for the Los Angeles Lakers. I love it for the Lakers.

The Lakers have the scope to make moves to further enhance their roster. Those moves will have to come through giving up their remaining first-round picks, whether it’s to Indiana for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield or to the Utah Jazz once again for other veterans on their roster like Bojan Bogdanovic. Teams like the Charlotte Hornets could be looped in for a possible trade as well, offering up players like Kelly Oubre Jr., Terry Rozier, or Gordon Hayward as options.

Adding Beverley is a good first move, but the Lakers still have a deficiency in wing depth that they need to address. The roster isn’t complete, and the Lakers will hope to get their remaining moves done prior to the start of training camp.
