De’Aaron Fox Is The Only Max Player From The 2017 Draft Class That Has Not Been An All-Star Or Made The Playoffs

De’Aaron Fox is a very good scoring guard, well-known for his speed, athleticism, and slashing ability. He is the face of the Sacramento Kings currently and is widely considered their best player. This past season. De’Aaron Fox put up 23.2 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 5.6 APG.

Despite his talent, De’Aaron Fox has not been able to get many individual awards or make the playoffs. In fact, Kings writer Jason Jones has recently revealed that he is the only max contract player from the 2017 NBA Draft that has been unable to make an All-Star game or get to the playoffs. Hopefully, that changes in the future.

This is the best roster with De’Aaron Fox in Sacramento; now it’s time to see if he can do more than show flashes of being an All-Star. That means consistency on offense and a regular impact on defense. Fox is the only member of the 2017 draft class who received a max extension but has never been an All-Star or made the playoffs. This is his best chance to change that.

The Sacramento Kings have made a series of win-now moves over the course of the last few months in order to improve their roster. The first was a move for All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis, who is well-known for his passing, rebounding, and finishing ability. They also acquired shooters such as Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter this offseason. It is clear that they are committed to winning in the near future rather than continuously tanking.

De’Aaron Fox elevating himself to being a true All-Star caliber player will be key for the Sacramento Kings. We’ve seen him have that level of production in the past, so perhaps we will end up seeing that production translate into wins, and maybe De’Aaron Fox will end up bringing the team to the playoffs during his tenure.
