The Minnesota Timberwolves have made some interesting moves this offseason, landing three-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert in a blockbuster trade with the Utah Jazz, making it clear they are ready to compete in the stacked Western Conference. Following a very surprising campaign, the team is ready to raise the bar and confirm that they are here to contend.

While many fans don’t think they would get past the second round of the playoffs, things are different within the organization. They are pretty confident in their team and want to prove doubters wrong next season. The Big 3 of Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards, could shock the world, and one of their members is well aware of that.

Talking on a press conference to formally announce his contract extension, Towns opened up about his aspirations for the next season. The big man claims that after landing Gobert, the expectations for the T-Wolves are higher, even saying that it’s ‘championship or bust’ for them.

Karl-Anthony Towns on expectations for the Timberwolves this season: "It's go time. The (Rudy Gobert) trade happens. There's no more time. There are no more excuses. We've got to get it done now. It's championship now or bust. Got to go out there and get the job done." pic.twitter.com/MRbuNoTG2U

“It’s go time. The (Rudy Gobert) trade happens. There’s no more time. There are no more excuses. We’ve got to get it done now. It’s championship now or bust. Got to go out there and get the job done.”

Minnesota, and especially KAT, have big aspirations for the upcoming season. They’re ready to confirm that last season wasn’t a fluke and that they’re a threat to the top teams in the West. Their Big 3 could make some noise, and if role players show up in the playoffs, we could be talking about this team going to the WCF or beyond.

Of course, many people will say KAT is delusional after listening to his words, but he has confidence in his team and that’s the most important thing. Time will tell if it’s championship or bust for the T-Wolves, but right now, their superstar looks pretty confident.
