The Kevin Durant saga is still hot around the NBA, but it’s nothing like a couple of weeks ago when the superstar shockingly requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. Many thought that KD would have gotten the biggest return in NBA history, but things have been different for the Nets

Rival teams haven’t accepted the offers the Nets have sent to deal KD, which has sparked a sense of hope within the organization that they can keep Durant on the roster and perhaps run it back with him and Kyrie Irving next season. This is the trend right now, as the Nets have reportedly stopped aggressively pursuing a trade that involves Durant.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Brooklynites have slowed down their search for a trade partner that can help Durant and give the Nets the type of return they’d like to get for one of the best players in the league.

“The trade talks involving Kevin Durant have slowed to a trickle. They are not aggressively, I am told, making the outgoing calls.”

This situation is very complicated right now. Windhorst added that KD’s communication with people around the league has been ‘sparse’ and that not even the Nets are sure about his decision of asking for a trade.

“Nobody knows what Kevin Durant is thinking right now. His communication with teammates and others in the league has been sparse. I don’t even think that the Nets have a 100% understanding of why Kevin asked for a trade.”

Apparently, the situation isn’t as clear as some pretended it was regarding Durant’s decision. He’s yet to explain why he did what he did, but right now the focus is on getting him to a new team, or at least it was. The Nets are still hopeful that they can keep KD with them and see where that leads them, but first, they need to use every resource to move the 2x NBA champion somewhere else.
