NBA Rumors: Miami Heat Reportedly “Checked In” On Dejounte Murray As An Eastern Conference Team Supposedly Offers Three First Round Picks And A Young Player For Him

Dejounte Murray is one of the most sought-after stars in the NBA that is reportedly available for trade. The San Antonio Spurs man was an NBA All-Star last season, averaging over 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists last season, a truly impressive campaign. He has been linked with the Atlanta Hawks heavily, but now it seems as though there might be other teams that are also interested.

Reports emerged suggesting that the Miami Heat had checked in on Dejounte as they look to add the piece that will take them to the next level. While there was some acknowledgment that he might end up elsewhere, it seems the Heat have thought about the idea of bringing him to South Beach (via HeatNation):

“I did get indications that a few weeks back, Miami checked in on Dejounte Murray.”

And while this report in itself is quite vague, there were additional rumors that an unnamed Eastern Conference team had offered 3 first-round draft picks and a ‘desirable young player’ in a package to acquire his services.

“One mystery Eastern Conference team is offering three first-round draft picks and a desirable young player in a proposed trade for Dejounte Murray.”

Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo have been a great duo for the Heat, helping carry them to the NBA Finals and the Eastern Conference Finals in just 3 years. But the team is missing a key piece and someone like Murray could most definitely fill that role for the Heat if they can manage to get him.

They are far from the only team interested though, and the Hawks themselves will be able to offer a substantial package as they look to find the right co-star for Trae Young. Murray’s future seems uncertain and just about anything could happen in the coming weeks, with Dejounte set to be an incredible addition if a contending team can get him.
