The Orlando Magic are a team that could potentially be a great one in the future, but they had a developmental season this year, and thus ended up in the lottery. They do have some promising prospects, such as Franz Wagner and Cole Anthony on the roster.

This year, the Orlando Magic ended up with the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft. They have officially selected a prospect with that draft pick, big man Paolo Banchero from Duke University.

Paolo Banchero has the potential to be a star-level player in the NBA, and on the Orlando Magic, he will get the touches and playing time he needs to develop. He is an adept interior scorer, strong rebounder, and capable defender. He has the tools to succeed in the league, and the Orlando Magic were obviously intrigued by his potential. His shooting is an issue though, so that will be something he needs to address in the league.

Hopefully, we see Paolo Banchero become a star-level player in the future. Players drafted in the top 3 are generally expected to become franchise-changing superstars. With his addition, the Orlando Magic will improve their young core, and Paolo Banchero is clearly their big man of the future.
