Damian Lillard Calls Out Patrick Beverley For His Comments About Chris Paul: “What CP Do To You? Bra On TV Acting Like His Word Law… This Weird Behavior.”

It’s been an interesting Monday in the NBA, with the aftermath of the two Game 7s leading to a lot of reactions and commentary, especially with the Dallas Mavericks blowing out the Phoenix Suns. Chris Paul has caught a lot of heat for his poor performances in the series, with some fans even seen burning his jersey and things of that nature.

His biggest critics have come out of the woodwork to bash the Point God as well, none as loud as Patrick Beverley, who got on ESPN and destroyed Chris Paul. Bev claimed that the key to beating the Suns is attacking Chris Paul, before going on to suggest that everyone in the NBA knows that CP3 is a ‘cone’ on defense.

And while many fans have gleefully enjoyed Beverley taking shots at Paul’s expense after a poor performance from him, not everyone is amused by his latest antics. Damian Lillard called Beverley out in a tweet, questioning what CP did to irk him this much:

@patbev21 what CP do to you?

“@patbev what CP do to you?”

Lillard went on to elaborate on why he thought Beverley’s actions were ‘weird behavior’ and noted the fact that he was speaking about conversations he has had with players internally:

Bra on TV acting like his word law. Speaking on private convos and praying on mfs downfall. This weird behavior smh 🤷🏽‍♂️ … I ain’t got a horse in the race https://t.co/F6Cln8BBst

“Bra on TV acting like his word law. Speaking on private convos and praying on mfs downfall. This weird behavior smh… I ain’t got a horse in the race.”

Beverley was certainly enthusiastic in his criticism of Paul, but Lillard’s point also makes sense in terms of it being quite wild for a current player to go off on another in this manner. While he had some decent points to make on the way CP3 played, it was evident that a lot of Beverley’s takes also had some bias behind them. Paul himself is yet to respond, and it remains to be seen if he actually will at all.
