Jayson Tatum has recently hit a buzzer-beater to beat the Nets in Game 1 of the first-round series between the Celtics and the Nets. There is no doubt that this was a fantastic way to cap off the game for the young superstar. Even before that though, he was making an impact on the game through his playmaking and scoring. Jayson Tatum finished with 31 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists on the evening.

After the game NBA analyst Micah Adams revealed that Jayson Tatum’s buzzer-beating layup was the first game-winning buzzer-beater at home in Celtics history. It’s wild to think about the fact that this was a first for the Boston Celtics, and also that Jayson Tatum literally made history.

That was the first game-winning buzzer beater in the playoffs at home in Celtics history.

This was the 358th home game in Celtics playoff history.

For a storied franchise that’s seen almost everything you can imagine, that was a first.

That was the first game-winning buzzer beater in the playoffs at home in Celtics history. This was the 358th home game in Celtics playoff history. For a storied franchise that’s seen almost everything you can imagine, that was a first.

A lot of people have already expressed that they want this series between the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets to go all 7 games. Based on the way this game went, that would be an amazing thing to happen for the fans. The atmosphere at the TD Garden arena was electric, and hopefully, we see another close game when the two teams play again.

The Boston Celtics are clearly a contending team under Jayson Tatum’s leadership. They have been elite over the second part of the season, especially on the defensive end. They have all the requirements for being a championship team: star power, defense, and elite depth.

With that being said, before they can start thinking about winning a championship, they have to get past the Brooklyn Nets. Perhaps we see the Celtics win out, and with Jayson Tatum on the roster, they will have a good chance of beating the Nets this series.
