Skip Bayless is regarded as one of the biggest sports analysts when it comes to American football and basketball. He is well-known for his very hot and controversial takes, which draw the ire of fans and players alike.

One of the players that Skip Bayless has criticized in the past is Russell Westbrook. There is no doubt that Bayless views Westbrook as one of the Lakers’ problems due to fit, and he has even suggested that Russell Westbrook should be a sixth man for the team.

It’s just a wrongheaded fit. It will not work and I feel sorry for everybody involved. So you gotta figure out what’s the best way to utilize him… He needs to be Manu Ginobili but he will not accept being 6th Man of the Year.

That’s who Russ could and should be at this stage of his career. To me, that’s the best fit.

Russell Westbrook’s wife, Nina Westbrook has recently called out Skip Bayless over his treatment of Russell Westbrook, roasting him for blocking her on Twitter and asking him to be “adult enough” to deal with the “consequences” of his criticism of her husband.

“I just found out that @skipbayless blocked me on Twitter… as though I’m the one constantly harassing him and calling him out of his name.

Mr. Bayless. I’m a real person. If you’re able to use your platform to degrade my husband and constantly call him out of his name then at least be adult enough to deal with the consequences of your actions. Don’t try to erase me from your reality to make yourself feel better about your choice.

I’m still here. There’s no need to block me. Just be respectful, and I have no reason to respond or remind you of your reckless choices. Just do better.”

Skip Bayless has recently offered a response to Nina Westbrook on Twitter, claiming that he has “never blocked anybody”. He also added that he “will continue to tell the truth” as he sees fit regarding Russell Westbrook.

Dear Mrs. Westbrook: Thank you for clarifying that I didn't block you. I've never blocked anybody and never will. I welcome your criticism and appreciate your defending your husband. But I will continue to tell the truth as I see it.

Dear Mrs. Westbrook: Thank you for clarifying that I didn’t block you. I’ve never blocked anybody and never will. I welcome your criticism and appreciate your defending your husband. But I will continue to tell the truth as I see it.

There’s no question that Russell Westbrook has struggled at times this season. However, he was pivotal in the Los Angeles Lakers win against the Golden State Warriors recently, and hopefully, this means he will play better in the future.

It remains to be seen if Skip Bayless will ease up on the criticism of Russell Westbrook. One could only hope that Skip Bayless will end up giving Russell Westbrook some credit for playing well when he does so, but based on their history, it’s hard to see that happening.
