Klay Thompson: “I Think I’ll Be Incredible Come Playoff Time.”

Klay Thompson has missed ample time with injuries prior to his return this season. There is no question that going through an ACL injury and an Achilles injury takes a toll on everyone, both physically and mentally. With that being said, Klay Thompson has been having a solid year and is currently putting up 16.7 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 3.0 APG while shooting 37.8% from beyond the arc.

After the Golden State Warriors’ recent loss to the New York Knicks, Klay Thompson spoke about his progression, and claimed that he’ll be “incredible come playoff time”. There’s no question that he has been shooting well from distance, and once the rest of the rust wears off, Klay Thompson will likely be back to his usual self.

I want to say I feel like myself. But naturally when you miss 941 days… I still think I’m trending upwards. I really want to peak by May and June rather than right now. Every week gets better, and I think I’ll be incredible come playoff time. Just like this season has progressed, my game has progressed as well, and I think that’s going to continue.

The Golden State Warriors are back to contending this season. They have enjoyed some improvement from Jordan Poole, and Andrew Wiggins ended up getting his first All-Star selection. Klay Thompson’s return only cemented their contending status. Many have them as their pick for the 2021-22 NBA championship, and they certainly have the talent and the ability to do so.

It will be good to see the Warriors back in the playoffs, and it’ll be intriguing to see how they do. Klay Thompson being at his best will be crucial for the team’s ability to win games, and hopefully, his prediction about peaking in the playoffs ends up becoming a reality.
