NBA Rumors: Indiana Pacers Could Trade Myles Turner For Goran Dragic And A First Round Pick

Goran Dragic has played just 5 games for the Toronto Raptors since he arrived at the franchise as part of the deal that saw Kyle Lowry end up with the Miami Heat after a sign-and-trade. The Dragon has been quite evidently looking for a trade or a buyout but nothing has materialized so far before the trade deadline. However, a deal is expected to happen with Dragic linked to teams like the Dallas Mavericks and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Another team has now emerged as a possibility, with the Indiana Pacers named amongst interested teams. According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, a deal involving Myles Turner could happen between the Pacers and the Raptors. Another team in the Atlanta Hawks has also been mentioned as a part of sweepstakes for Dragic.

“Toronto and Indiana have discussed a trade framework regarding Goran Dragic and a first-round pick, sources told B/R, an outgoing concept the Raptors have used in exploratory talks around the league.”

“There has been a framework surrounding Danilo Gallinari for Goran Dragic discussed between Toronto and Atlanta, sources said. Further details on that dynamic are unclear.”

The Raptors are discussing a Goran Dragic trade with multiple teams, per @JakeLFischer

Dragic has been an extremely consistent scorer for the last decade in the NBA, scoring at least 13 points per game in every season since 2012. It seems unlikely that he would be any more willing to play for the Pacers than he is for the Raptors. Furthermore, if Toronto can get a player like Turner in return, it could be a major coup for the team.

Dragic has been linked with a buyout, after which he is reportedly interested in joining up with the Dallas Mavericks. Indiana is rebuilding after having blown up its current core. Domantas Sabonis and Jeremy Lamb have both been traded to the Sacramento Kings. It remains to be seen how the situation will be approached with Turner, but a trade for Dragic and a first-round pick could be considered to be selling low for the Pacers.
