Andrew Wiggins has recently been selected as an All-Star starter. While that decision may have been surprising to some, he is on a contending team and was the No. 2 scorer behind Stephen Curry. His individual stats aren’t necessarily eye-popping, but there’s definitely an argument for him being an All-Star based on the Warriors’ team record.

After the recent Golden State Warriors-Minnesota Timberwolves game, Andrew Wiggins was asked about how he felt when he learned that he was an All-Star starter. Wiggins revealed that he was actually sleeping and that his daughter woke him up and told him. He added that he thought he was “dreaming for a second”.

Andrew Wiggins on getting named an All-Star starter: "It was mind-blowing. I was taking my pregame nap. My girl woke me up and said, 'You’re a starter! You’re a starter!' I thought I was dreaming for a second."

Andrew Wiggins says he found out that he was an All-Star starter by getting woken up from his nap by his daughter.

" 'You're a starter! You're a starter!' I thought I was dreaming for a second."

It was mind-blowing. I was taking my pregame nap. My girl woke me up and said, ‘You’re a starter! You’re a starter!’ I thought I was dreaming for a second.

There is no doubt that it is amazing for Andrew Wiggins to not only be selected to an All-Star game for the first time but also be selected as a starter in the game. It’s true that there are some players that were snubbed from the starters that are better on an individual level he is. Luka Doncic, Donovan Mitchell, and Devin Booker are some examples. However, Andrew Wiggins has definitely built a case for himself to be selected as one of the best two-way players in the league, and it’s good to see his reputation around the league change.

The Golden State Warriors are the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, and there have been times this season where they’ve looked like the best team in the league. Some believe they could win the 2021-22 NBA championship, and there’s no question that they have the talent to do so. The Golden State Warriors will be back in the playoffs, and that is good for the league.
