The Los Angeles Lakers faced the Philadelphia 76ers today, and unfortunately, they were unable to come out with the win. The final score ended up being 87-105, and it’s clear that the Lakers were never truly in the game.

Anthony Davis put up 31 points and 12 rebounds today, while Russell Westbrook tallied 20 points on 9-15 shooting. There’s no doubt that the two stars played well, but the Lakers simply failed to get more production out of their role player, who were mostly non-factors during the evening.

NBA fans reacted to the game, and many people ended up criticizing the Los Angeles Lakers for their performance without superstar LeBron James. Some fans even joked that this game shows why LeBron James is the MVP this year, as well as the GOAT of basketball.

There’s no doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers’ big three of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook are all still good individually. LeBron James in particular is having one of his best scoring seasons yet. However, they have failed to mesh as a unit, and there’s no question that there are times when they don’t look cohesive. The trade deadline is coming up soon too, so the Los Angeles Lakers have to make a decision on whether to stick with this core or make a big move. They’ve been linked with players like Ben Simmons in the past. There are arguments for both sides, but the pressure is definitely on for this particular version of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Hopefully, we see the team improve sooner rather than later, as it would be optimal for them to avoid the play-in tournament. They will definitely want more wins to come sooner rather than later. There’s still time for the Los Angeles Lakers to become the contending team they want to be, but it is quickly running out.
