Russell Westbrook Is Shooting Better From The Field Than Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard And 4 Other Stars

Russell Westbrook has received plenty of criticism for the 2021/22 NBA season. He hasn’t been able to click with the Los Angeles Lakers, struggling from beyond the arc and turning the ball over plenty of times.

The first half of the season has been a rollercoaster for Westbrook. It’s been full of ups and downs, but the player has experienced bad things more than good. His shooting woes are once again a source of concern for his team and the Lakers want to find an answer before it’s too late.

However, there’s one stat that shows that Westbrook is doing better than other stars around the league. He’s struggling with his 3-point shooting, as always, but his field goals are landing. His 43.7 field goal percentage is better than six other players who are considered better shooters than him.

Right now, Westbrook is shooting better than:

Jayson Tatum: 42.7%

LaMelo Ball: 42.4%

Paul George: 42.1%

James Harden: 42%

Stephen Curry: 41.6%

Damian Lillard: 40.2%

Russell Westbrook is shooting 43.8% from the field this season. That's better than these players:

Jayson Tatum: 42.7%
LaMelo Ball: 42.4%
Paul George: 42.1%
James Harden: 42%
Stephen Curry: 41.6%
Damian Lillard: 40.2%

Brodie is trying to turn things around and his turnovers rate has decreased in the past couple of games. It’s still not good to consider his contributions good for the Lakers, but he’s in the right direction to bounce back.

The Los Angeles Lakers welcomed Anthony Davis back, which is great news for them. If they can get on the same page and Westbrook is that dominant player he usually is in the second halves of the seasons, the Purple and Gold will have a better chance to compete in the Western Conference.

Westbrook can still do a lot of damage with the 17-time NBA champions, but time will tell if they can get it together and start winning games consistently.
