Christian Wood is a big man for the Houston Rockets and is widely viewed as the best player on that team. He is well-known for being one of the premier shooting bigs in the league. Currently, Christian Wood is averaging 17.4 PPG, 10.2 RPG, and 2.1 APG while shooting 36.6% from beyond the arc.

It seems as though Christian Wood’s stellar play has resulted in some teams trying to trade for him. Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report has recently revealed that the Miami Heat have been consistently “mentioned as a suitor for Christian Wood”, but added that the Rockets desire “a sizable return” for their big man.

Miami has consistently been mentioned as a suitor for Christian Wood this week. The Rockets are searching for a sizable return for the skilled forward. So far, a framework of Duncan Robinson for Wood has circulated around the league, but Houston appears to require far more to part with their frontcourt centerpiece.

There is no doubt that Christian Wood would fit well on the Miami Heat. He would be able to start next to Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler, and his stellar floor spacing would certainly help the Heat’s two stars. Wood would also provide some more rebounding for the Heat, and he has also improved on the defensive end this year. Christian Wood is a good player that could definitely be a difference-maker for the Miami Heat in a year where they’re looking to contend for the championship.

The Miami Heat are currently the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference despite not being healthy all season. There’s definitely a good argument for the idea that they should stay put and not change anything. However, Christian Wood is definitely a good player, and if there is an avenue to acquiring him without giving up any core pieces, it’s definitely worth a look.
