Lakers Daily

LeBron James is one of the league’s most prominent superstars. While the Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been playing well this year, on an individual level, LeBron James has been stellar. In fact, it’s impressive that he’s playing like an MVP-caliber player at the age of 37.

Currently, LeBron James is averaging 29.1 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 6.3 APG. This is his highest-scoring season since the 2009-10 season, which is insane to think about. LeBron James is generally viewed as a pass-first player as well, which makes this elite scoring season even more impressive.

Anthony Davis has recently commented on LeBron James’ scoring explosion this season. Anthony Davis claimed that “it’s fun to watch” and added that LeBron James “gets in this zone”, and enters “kill mode” as a scorer.

There is no doubt that LeBron James’ scoring has sorely been needed with Anthony Davis out. There were definitely games this year which the Lakers won mostly due to this insane scoring stretch. With that being said, it is quite likely that with Anthony Davis back, LeBron James will have less responsibility on the offensive end. LeBron James isn’t concerned with his workload, however, and he joked that he was “18 years old saving a franchise”, so workload concerns were foreign to him.

The Los Angeles Lakers have won two of their last three games, and hopefully, their winning stretch continues. There is no doubt that they’ll be a better team with Anthony Davis’ return, particularly on the defensive end. While there have been some suggestions that the Lakers should shake it up, there is still a chance that this current roster can figure things out.
