Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets continued their dominant stretch against the Philadelphia 76ers. Following this victory, the Nets have now won their last four games and are comfortably sitting on top of the Eastern Conference with a record of 21-8.

Once again, it was KD, who put on an absolute show for fans. He finished the game with 34 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists while playing 39 minutes. Moreover, Durant was pretty efficient as he shot 54.2% from the field and was a mainstay in the scoring department.

The elite performance was welcomed by Brooklyn Nets fans as they started MVP chants during the game. This season Durant is making a strong case for himself to win the second MVP of his career. The only player even close to him is Stephen Curry, which by the way led to a heated debate between Stephen A. Smith and Jay Williams.

Anyway, upon hearing the recurring MVP chants from fans, ‘The Slim Reaper’ was without a doubt delighted. He expressed his love for the fans in the post-game interview as well.

“It’s nothing like playing in Brooklyn. They show love, they appreciate great basketball. We gotta keep it rolling for them.”

The crowd at Barclays Center is without a doubt an amazing one. As a result, players feed off of this energy and give their 110% in every game. Moreover, with Kyrie Irving and James Harden sidelined, Durant had a lot of responsibilities on his shoulder.

He welcomed those responsibilities with open arms and proved why he is one of the best players in the NBA. If he continues performing at this level, there is no doubt that KD will be the frontrunner to bag the MVP award.

Apart from MVP honors, the two-time NBA champion is leading the league in scoring too. He is currently averaging a stunning 29.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.

The only question is can he continue playing at this level until the end of the season? After all, if he fails to lead the Nets to an NBA Championship this season, the media will be highly critical of him.
