Over the past few days, the entire NBA community has been focused on Stephen Curry’s three-point record. The rave got intense when he needed 16 three-pointers to break the record, and many believed he would hit the milestone, which goes a long way in showing how great he is.

Steph was 10 three-pointers away from surpassing Ray Allen in Philadelphia, but Joel Embiid was not willing to allow him to do that in his city. Right now, he needs two three-pointers after knocking down five against the Indiana Pacers.

Golden State Warriors big man Draymond Green has commented on Steph’s record chase, stating that he will beat Allen’s record with over 1,000 three-pointers. Speaking post-game in Indiana, he said:

“If we’re playing against a set defense, every time Steph’s going to have the ball. That’s our offense is built around Steph Curry and the last two-three games we played against the set defense. Every play we’re not getting out in transition really because we’re following turn the ball over.”

“Saying that I’ll be happy as hell when it’s over. He got it and ultimately I think he’ll end up beating his record by a thousand plus three. So I’ll be happy when it’s behind.”

Head coach Steve Kerr has spoken on the team’s overall mentality regarding Steph’s record chase. It is evident that the entire team is rallying around Curry to set the new record, but Kerr has pointed out that it might have been a distraction.

Although the Warriors still have the best defense in the league, they have started to struggle offensively. The narrow 102-100 win against the Pacers was a clear indication of their struggles, but they managed to grind out the win.

So far, Steph has knocked down 140 three-pointers on 349 attempts. He is still the frontrunner for the 2022 MVP award, averaging 27.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.
