A Young Damian Lillard Blasted LeBron James When He Signed For Miami Heat

3 Min Read

Damian Lillard has recently gotten a lot of attention due to all the rumors around his future with the Portland Trail Blazers. The All-Star point guard finished another season without having a deep playoffs run, being eliminated in the first round by the Denver Nuggets.

Everybody is trying to guess where he would play if he requested a trade from Portland, and fans have started digging to discover Dame’s preferred destination in the league. In an era where most fans dislike superteams, others say Lillard should join one to get that ring.

Well, it seems like Dame Dolla wasn’t a fan of this even when he was younger. Old tweets from him recently resurfaced to show how unhappy he was with LeBron James after The King joined Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami back in 2010.

In now-deleted tweets (S/O Deadspin), Lillard blasted Bron during the 2011 NBA Finals.

“@KingJames talents to south beach? You took the spotlight and a ego. You left the talents haha. Them sh*ts in Cleveland.”

“@KingJames I don’t feel bad for yo fake focused a**, I feel bad for dwade, and MYSELF cuz I wanted it more than you. #damnshame”

It seems like Dame was very disappointed in The King when the Heat couldn’t beat the Dallas Mavericks 10 years ago. He wasn’t happy about James’ performances and let it all out on Twitter.

10 years later, Dame finds himself in a position to join Bron and Anthony Davis in Los Angeles. If the Lakers somehow pulled off this move, they will be instant favorites to win the championship again.

Even though Dame has been loyal to his team all these years, the player could be living his last days in Portland. Lillard isn’t happy with the team’s inability to assemble a competitive team, and fans coming at him over the hiring of Chauncey Billups haven’t improved things.

This is a tricky situation for the Blazers. Just when they thought Dame would stick around until the end of his career, things have reportedly taken a turn.
