The Golden State Warriors are all set to receive an Andrew Wiggins boost in the days to come.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski took to Twitter to break the news that will come as a welcome sight to the Warriors fans. “ESPN Sources: Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins is nearing a return to the team and is expected to be back early this week,” he wrote. “Wiggins has missed 21 games attending to a family matter. Huge boost for the defending champions and sixth seed in the West.”

Wiggins last played for Golden State on February 13  against the Washington Wizards and notched up 29 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists to help the side register a 135-126 win. But he has been away from the team since due to personal reasons.

Per The Athletic’s Shams Charania, he missed the games to be with his father, who was reportedly dealing with medical issues. On that note, prayers up for his father.

The ongoing season has seen him play 37 games and is averaging 17.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. On the season front, the Warriors lost 112-110 to the Denver Nuggets.

The return of two-way Wiggins had this fan in joyful tears.

Well-wishing fans were happy that he was back, and that he had resolved whatever was troubling him.

For one, the return meant that the Warriors were going to defend their title.

Per Fox Sports, Melissa Rohlin, this was prime good news. “This is a big boost for the Warriors, who have three games remaining and are in sixth place, only a half-game ahead of both the Lakers and Pelicans.”

The Warriors have three games remaining in the regular season and will face the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Sacramento Kings, and the Portland Trail Blazers — all three contests that will be tested, especially with the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans in hot pursuit.

Perhaps it’s time to soon say, Welcome back, Wiggins, if he does suit up this week.
