Angry Warriors Fans React To Rumors That Golden State Could Bring Back Kevin Durant In Exchange For Their Young Stars: “If This Happens, I’m No Longer A Warriors Fan”

Kevin Durant’s exit from the Brooklyn Nets seems imminent. Neither the player nor the team has shown much interest in prolonging their relationship. Considering that he is under contract for 4 years, though, the rest of the NBA was put on notice following his trade request, as nearly every team evaluates if there is a way they can land KD.

Durant reportedly would like to go to either the Phoenix Suns or the Miami Heat, both teams that were the top seeds in their conference during the 2021-22 season. This shows that KD is hoping to be moved to a contender. And while those teams can offer decent packages as well, there is another team that is sure to be a contender that can offer an amazing one.

The reigning champion Golden State Warriors, the team Durant won two championships and two Finals MVPs with, has been linked with an interest in bringing him back. And NBA Insider Marc Spears suggested a package that would involve a lot of their younger stars for KD, players like Jonathan Kuminga, Jordan Poole, James Wiseman, and Andrew Wiggins, something that didn’t please Warriors fans too much.

“Give up our whole young core? Keep dreaming”

“If this happens I’m no longer a Warriors fan.”

“No way, no how.”

“As a Brooklyn fan, this would be a huge L for the Warriors.”

“Warriors are too smart, no way they’re doing this.”

“Dumbest trade ever if happens.”

“It is just sad to trade the guy(Andrew Wiggins) who gave its all in the Finals for the guy who left GSW thinking he can win a chip without Steph.”

“They don’t need KD, they won chips without him….Yea I said “chips” as in multiple.”

“F**k that. We don’t need KD.”

“Bad trade for the Warriors.”

“This would be Golden State getting scammed.”

“There is no way in hell this happens.”

“KD is not worth our entire future.”

While Durant is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league and has proven he can win with Golden State’s core, a trade like this would be the Warriors trading their future for a few more championships now. Even that isn’t a guarantee, as all their older players have shown that injuries can hamper them, even if the team is incredible when they are healthy. Arguments can be made for and against the trade, but for now, most Golden State fans don’t seem to want it to happen.
